UPDATE: Nathan Doualla cleared of wrongdoing regarding age fraud, double identity
Cameroon and Victoria United midfielder Wilfred Nathan Doualla has been cleared of wrongdoing and proven innocent regarding the age fraud allegation for which he was suspended by FECAFOOT, the Cameroon Football Federation, Berkane reports.
This was revealed by a FootMercato correspondent, Hanif Ben Berkane, in a post on X.
Recall that FECAFOOT suspended Doualla and 61 others on March 12, on age fraud and double identity allegations, in a scandal that could have proved devastating for the federation, as they risked being banned from international tournaments for the next two African Cup of Nations.
Doualla was in Cameroon’s squad in the last AFCON, and with the allegations previously hanging over his head, had he been found guilty, Cameroon would have been penalized heavily, but the youngster has been proven innocent and cleared of any wrongdoing.
Doualla has also been proven not to have a double identity with Nji Richmond.
This update means Doualla has been reinstated in the Cameroonian league and will be available to play in the playoffs with his team Victoria United FC.
