BREAKING: Edo Governor Okpebholo suspends top health official over alleged financial misconduct

On Tuesday, April 29, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo ordered the immediate suspension of Dr. Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire, the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, over allegations of serious financial and official misconduct.
The announcement was made in a statement released by Umar Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government, in Benin City, the state capital.
“The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Executive Secretary, Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire, over allegations of grave financial and official infractions,” the statement read.
Until the investigation is completed, the most senior staff member at the agency will take over in an acting capacity. A special committee will be formed by the state government to probe the allegations and determine the appropriate next steps.
