Tinubu congratulates Remo Stars on historic NPFL title win

On Sunday, April 27, Remo Stars clinched their first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes in Ikenne, marking a historic achievement for the club.
The Sky Blue Stars now top the league standings with an impressive 68 points from 35 matches, with only three games remaining in the season. Rivers United, their closest challenger, trails with 58 points from the same number of matches.
This win also makes Remo Stars the first privately owned club to capture the NPFL title since Udoji United in 1996.
In a statement issued by his special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu extended his congratulations to Remo Stars for their remarkable achievement. He described the title victory, just four years after the team’s promotion to the top flight, as a reflection of the hard work, discipline, and resilience demonstrated by the players, coaching staff, and management.
Tinubu also praised the vision and commitment of the club’s owner and chairman, Mr. Kunle Soname, whose leadership was instrumental in the team’s success.
