Jurgen Klopp aims to manage Real Madrid and Germany before retirement, says close friend

Miroslav Tanjga, a close friend of former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, has revealed that the German coach has two major ambitions left before he retires: to manage Real Madrid and the German national team.

Klopp, who left his role at Liverpool last summer and was succeeded by Arne Slot—who went on to win the Premier League title in his first season—currently serves as Head of Global Soccer with the Red Bull Group.

Tanjga, who was once a teammate of Klopp at Mainz, disclosed the German coach’s two dream jobs in a recent interview with AS. He shared:
“What Klopp told me when he left Liverpool was that he had two wishes: to be the coach of the national team and of Real Madrid.”

While Tanjga acknowledged that these aspirations might not materialize, he pointed out that Klopp is certainly a candidate for the Real Madrid job, especially with the club expected to part ways with Carlo Ancelotti soon. However, Tanjga also cautioned that all discussions about Klopp’s future are still speculative.

He continued:
“He’s certainly one of the candidates for the Real Madrid job, but for now, all of this is pure speculation. I also know that he never saw himself as the coach of any other team in England, except Liverpool. He doesn’t want to go to Serie A or France, and at some point, I think he’ll become the German coach.”

Klopp’s future remains the subject of intense speculation, but his passion for coaching at the highest level remains evident.
