Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Ruben Dias will miss Manchester City’s Premier League match against Aston Villa on Saturday due to injury. The key defender is expected to be sidelined for the next three to four weeks.
“Rúben Dias will be out with an injury for 3/4 weeks,” Guardiola revealed during his pre-match press conference on Friday, December 20. “He felt something against Man United and played for 75 minutes with pain… now he’s out.”
However, the Manchester City manager will have Manuel Akanji and John Stones available for selection, providing some relief to his defensive options for the upcoming match.
City heads into the game following a 2-1 loss to Manchester United in their last outing. Currently, they occupy 5th place in the Premier League table, trailing behind Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
