Breaking: Governor Yusuf seeks approval to appoint retired Air Vice Marshal as Kano commissioner

On Monday, April 28, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State sent a formal letter to the Kano State House of Assembly requesting approval to appoint retired Air Vice Marshal Umar Ibrahim as a commissioner and member of the state’s executive council.

During the Assembly’s plenary session, Speaker Rt. Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore read the letter, in which the governor praised the nominee as “highly experienced and knowledgeable.” He added that Umar Ibrahim’s military expertise would bring significant value to the state government.

“The retired military personnel’s expertise would greatly benefit the people of Kano,” the governor noted.

Governor Yusuf also asked lawmakers to conduct a diligent and law-abiding screening process to ensure that the nominee is fully qualified and competent for the role.

The Kano State House of Assembly has now scheduled the screening of Air Vice Marshal Umar Ibrahim for Tuesday, April 29.
