Raphinha reflects on Barcelona’s 4-1 victory over Bayern as fan’s revenge

Barcelona forward Raphinha has expressed that the team’s impressive 4-1 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night was a form of “revenge” for the fans who have endured painful past results against the German side.

In a standout performance, Raphinha scored a hat-trick, marking his 100th appearance for Barcelona and helping to break a streak of six consecutive defeats to Bayern in the competition. Although he only played in two of those previous matches, Raphinha felt the weight of those losses as a supporter.

After the match, he shared, “It was revenge for the fans, I think. For us on the inside, the players, we don’t look at the past. We focus on the next game. But I suffered those games as a fan, too.”

Looking ahead, Barcelona will face their arch-rivals Real Madrid in the El Clasico this Saturday.
