FIFA President announces first-ever half-time show for 2026 World Cup final

On Wednesday, March 5, FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that the 2026 World Cup final will feature a half-time show, marking the first time in the tournament’s history.
Infantino shared the exciting news, revealing that the World Cup will also “take over” Times Square during the final and third-place match. This new tradition will be similar to the spectacle seen during the Super Bowl.
Next year, the World Cup will be hosted across 16 cities in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
“I can confirm the first-ever half-time show at a FIFA World Cup final in New York/New Jersey, in association with Global Citizen,” Infantino announced on his personal Instagram.
“This will be a historic moment for the World Cup and a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world,” he added.
