Cristiano Ronaldo commits to Al Nassr with massive contract extension ahead of 2026 World Cup

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to extend his stay at Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr after agreeing to terms for a significant contract extension that will keep him with the team for at least two more seasons, Marca reports.

The contract, which includes an option for a second year based on performance and preference, will see the five-time Ballon d’Or winner remain in Riyadh through at least 2026.

This timing aligns with Ronaldo’s aspirations to play for Portugal at the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Although discussions regarding the deal had been ongoing for months, the official announcement had been delayed due to the unique nature of the contract. Unlike traditional football agreements, Ronaldo’s new deal will also encompass broader commercial, ambassadorial, and developmental roles, adding complexity to the negotiations.

The new extension is reported to be worth up to €200 million per year, further solidifying Ronaldo’s stature not only on the pitch but also in global business and sports development.
