Chidimma Adetshina accepts invitation to compete in Miss Universe Nigeria

Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a model with Nigerian and Mozambican roots, has announced her participation in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant.

This decision follows her withdrawal from the Miss South Africa 2024 competition amidst controversy regarding her nationality.

Adetshina, who was a Top 11 Finalist in the Miss South Africa contest, stepped down after facing scrutiny from the South African Department of Home Affairs. The department had raised concerns about potential fraud and identity theft involving her mother, leading to Adetshina’s decision to withdraw.

In a recent video, Adetshina shared her excitement about her new opportunity, saying, “I have decided to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant… I am looking forward to participating in Africa’s most prestigious beauty pageant – Miss Universe Nigeria.”
