Tinubu means well for all Nigerians, support him – Shettima to Northerners
Vice President Kashim Shettima has made a passionate appeal to Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration in actualizing its policies and programs. He emphasized that the President means well for all Nigerians, contrary to speculations and misinformation circulating in some quarters that he is anti-north or anti-Islam.
Shettima pointed out that Tinubu’s appointments to key positions in federal government ministries, departments, and agencies reflect his commitment to inclusivity and representation. He highlighted several examples, including the appointment of northerners to sensitive positions such as agriculture, security, communications technology, health, and allied services.
The Vice President also drew attention to initiatives such as the Resettlement Scheme for Persons Impacted by Conflict (RSPIC) and the creation of the Ministry of Livestock Development, which he said demonstrate the administration’s genuine intentions to transform the lives of northerners and address the region’s challenges.
While acknowledging the right to protest, Shettima noted its potential demerits and appealed to media practitioners to rally support for the administration. He emphasized that protest alone will not guarantee development, but rather, leveraging opportunities offered by the federal government can transform lives and livelihoods in the region.
Shettima urged northerners to give their support to the current administration under President Tinubu, saying “we need to promote actions and ideals that are critical to the development of our country; we cannot allow things to degenerate.” He expressed optimism that with collective support, the administration’s policies and programs will have a direct and positive impact on the northern people.
