Soludo headed for huge 2025 election win, says top Anambra market leader

On Monday, April 14, a major grassroots leader, Chief Jude Nwankwo, declared that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is on track for a landslide victory in the upcoming Anambra governorship election, set for Saturday, November 8.
Nwankwo, who is the President-General of the Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, spoke to journalists in Awka, where he confidently said that Soludo has a 100% chance of winning. He praised the governor’s “monumental achievements” across different sectors, saying no other candidate stands a real chance.
According to him, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, cannot match Soludo’s influence or track record. He also pointed out that Chief George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) is weakened due to the LP’s internal crisis, following a Supreme Court ruling that split the party into factions.
“LP currently has two candidates, which has virtually crippled the party’s chances in the upcoming election,” Nwankwo said.
He added that not even a united front of the APC, PDP, LP, YPP, and other parties could stop the governor’s momentum.
“Anambra people are no longer just thinking about the governor winning in the 21 local government areas, but about his victory in every ward and polling unit across the state,” Nwankwo added.
He praised Governor Soludo’s major development projects, including the new Government House, the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, and the Solution Fun City Amusement Park in the Awka capital territory. He also emphasized that Soludo’s efforts have brought visible progress to communities across Anambra State.
“The governor’s impact goes beyond Awka; it extends to every part of the state,” Nwankwo stated.
He further pointed to Soludo’s unanimous nomination during the APGA primary as a sign of widespread support and a lack of serious opposition.
But not everyone agrees.
On the same day, a youth group criticized Governor Soludo’s handling of traditional leadership across the state, calling his actions “dictatorial.” In a statement, the group claimed that Soludo’s administration has not respected local customs and traditional rulers, and they urged the governor to reconsider his approach if he wants to maintain support from younger voters.
