Shettima, Abbas, Obasanjo, Atiku, others attend Kwankwaso daughter’s wedding
Vice President Kashim Shettima, Speaker of the House of Reps Tajudeen Abbas, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and hosts of other dignitaries have attended the wedding Fatiha of the daughter of ex-governor of Kano state, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
The wedding, which took place at the Palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, on Saturday was attended by dignitaries.
Mr Shettima arrived at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport at about 10:am, while Mr Obasanjo arrived earlier at about 9:30am, wearing white babbarriga and red cap, a symbol of the Kwankwasiyya political movement introduced by Mr Kwankwaso in 2011.
Also in attendance were former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and former governors of Kaduna, Akwa Ibom and Sokoto States, Ahmed Makarfi,Victor Attah and Aminu Tambuwal respectively.
Other dignitaries include Defense Minister, Abubakar Badaru, the son of late Head of State, Muhammad Sani Abacha and Major Hamza Al-Mustapha.
The wedding was also graced by traditional rulers from different parts of the country.
The wedding Fatiha was solemnised before the emir and officiated by the Chief Imam of Kano, Professor Sani Zahraddin.
The sum of N1 million was given as the bride price. The groom also gifted another N1 million to the imams that performed the solemnization.
