Renowned American actress Angelina Jolie has disclosed the personal reason behind her decision to stop singing, attributing it to the harsh criticism she received from a former boyfriend.
In an interview with a Hollywood Reporter on Monday, September 2, Jolie shared that her ex-boyfriend’s severe critique of her singing abilities led her to believe she was incapable of singing.
She explained that the negative feedback had a significant mental impact on her, leading her to accept his opinion as her own reality.
Jolie said: “I don’t sing. I had somebody in my life who was not kind to me about singing. It was a relationship I was in. And so I just assumed I couldn’t really sing. I’d been to theatre school, so it was weird that it even had an effect on me. I just kind of adapted to this person’s opinion.”
