K-pop star Bain stuns fans by coming out as gay during LA concert

On Friday, April 25, Bain, a 23-year-old member of the K-pop boy band Just B, made a bold and heartfelt announcement during a concert in Los Angeles—he publicly came out as gay.

This emotional reveal happened while Bain was performing a solo, making him one of the first male K-pop idols to come out publicly, according to Korean news outlet News1. In an industry where stars often keep their personal lives private due to intense pressure, Bain’s move was both brave and groundbreaking.

“I’m proud to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community — as a gay person,” Bain told the crowd, who responded with cheers and applause.

He followed up with an inspiring message: “To anyone out there who’s part of the LGBTQ+ community, or still figuring it out — this is for you. You are seen, you are loved, and you were born this way.”

After the performance, his bandmate Siwoo showed his support on a fan platform, writing: “I was watching from backstage and I cried too. I cried even more because I knew how hard it was for him.”

Fans all over social media have been celebrating the moment, calling it a huge step forward for representation and courage in the K-pop world.
