Obi Cubana names biological son as ‘real’ next-of-kin amid viral tiktok video
Nigerian billionaire and nightlife entrepreneur Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has clarified the identity of his true next-of-kin following a viral TikTok video that sparked speculation on social media.
The video featured Chidi, Obi Cubana’s adopted son, participating in a trending challenge while implying that he was the businessman’s next-of-kin. In the clip, Chidi walked confidently with a caption that read, “Nothing do my shoulder, I just realise sey I be next of kin,” which quickly attracted widespread attention online.
In what appeared to be a subtle yet pointed response, Obi Cubana took to Instagram to post a photo of himself with his biological son, Alex, captioning it:
“Ancient and Modern, eyes on the ball! @dtwalx aka Next-of-kin!”
The post made it clear that Alex holds the official title, effectively quelling the social media buzz surrounding Chidi’s claim.
Meanwhile, Obi Cubana was in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Sunday, where he praised Governor Charles Soludo’s leadership and ongoing development efforts. He lauded the Governor for fulfilling campaign promises and driving progress across the state.
“I believe this may be the first time in Anambra State where there might be no real contest. It’s going to be a walkover because the governor is delivering on his promises for a new Anambra,” Obi Cubana remarked, expressing strong confidence in Soludo’s re-election prospects.
