Kano Pillars refute claims of three months’ unpaid salary to head coach Usman Abdallah
Kano Pillars have officially denied allegations that their head coach, Usman Abdallah, is owed three months’ salary. A local radio station in Kano had recently reported that Abdallah had not received his stipend for the past three months.
In response, the club issued a statement clarifying the situation. “For clarity, Usman Abdallah was officially appointed as the Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars on August 6, 2024. As we are currently in the second week of October, it is clear that he has only been with the club for two months,” the statement read.
The club emphasized, “The radio station’s claim of a three-month delay in salary payments is, therefore, impossible and demonstrates a lack of due diligence on their part.”
Kano Pillars are set to face Akwa United in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 6 encounter on Sunday, October 13.
