Gombe Youths loot Ramadan palliatives allegedly distributed by Seyi Tinubu

On Monday, March 24, youths in Gombe State looted Ramadan palliatives that were reportedly distributed by Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The initiative, which is part of Seyi’s tour across northern states, aims to provide feeding programs for the less privileged during Ramadan.

While some have praised the effort on social media, others have criticized it, arguing that the region needs long-term empowerment instead of short-term food aid.

A widely shared video shows youths raiding a truck filled with food items, including rice, sugar, oil, salt, and pasta. Of the two trucks carrying 3,500 cartons of supplies to Gombe, one was allegedly intercepted and looted.

Seyi’s visits, framed as part of the Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE) initiative, have sparked debate. Critics believe the initiative could be a political strategy to strengthen his father’s influence in the north.

As of now, the APC has not responded to inquiries about the incident.
