Read Madrid pushes defending UCL champions Man City out of the competition

Real Madrid left England yesterday with a victory and a place in the UEFA Champions League semifinal after edging out defending champions Manchester City on penalties.

After 120 minutes of football at the Manchester City stadium, nothing could separate Pep Guardiola’s men from Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Guardiola had his key players in the starting lineup, including Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, and Ederson.

Ancelotti also called on the services of Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga, and Antonio Rudiger from the get-go.

Real Madrid took the lead at Manchester in the 12th minute through Rodrygo, and it wasn’t until the 76th minute that De Bruyne equalized.

The game went to extra time, but no goal was scored in the extra 30 minutes of play. This forced the game to penalties, where Madrid goalie Andriy Lunin saved two penalties from Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic to win the galacticos the tie.

This means that Real Madrid will face Bayern Munich in the semifinal of this competition.
