Police denies claims of abduction of Ohanaeze Youth President, promises investigation
On Monday, February 10, 2025, the Ebonyi State Police Command addressed rumors circulating about the abduction of Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC). The police made it clear that no officers from their department were involved in any such event.
According to a statement from the police, this misinformation was part of a petition submitted to the Commissioner of Police. The petition claimed that Igboayaka spread false information that could disrupt peace and cause harm to communities in Ebonyi State.
“The police are looking into these claims and once our investigation is complete, we will take the necessary legal steps,” said SP Joshua Ukandu, the command’s spokesperson.
The police emphasized that they are committed to upholding the law and protecting the rights of all individuals while carrying out their duties.
