Ganduje disowns 2027 campaign posters, says he won’t contest against Tinubu
Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has strongly denounced as fake and misleading the campaign posters circulating on social media that suggest he plans to run against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
In a statement released on Sunday, August 18, by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje accused individuals behind these posters of spreading falsehoods. The posters incorrectly claim that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma would be Ganduje’s running mate.
The statement clarified, “This is to inform the general public that the poster circulating on social media, which alleges that APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is running for the presidency in 2027 with Governor Hope Uzodinma as his running mate, is entirely false and maliciously fabricated.”
The APC asserted that the posters are the work of mischief-makers, potentially associated with certain factions within the Kwankwassiyya movement, aiming to sow discord between Ganduje and President Tinubu.
The statement continued, “Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje remains steadfastly loyal to President Tinubu and is fully committed to supporting the President’s vision and leadership. Ganduje believes that President Tinubu is on the right path to lead Nigeria towards greater prosperity and unity.”
Ganduje urged the public to dismiss the fabricated claims and avoid spreading unverified information.
