Bafarawa denies joining SDP

On Tuesday, March 11, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, who used to be the governor of Sokoto State, said loud and clear that he hasn’t joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP), even though some people on social media said he did.
A popular post online claimed he switched to this other party, but he says it’s not true.
Bafarawa was the boss of Sokoto from 1999 to 2007. Back on Wednesday, January 15, he told everyone he was leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In a letter, he explained he wanted to spend his time helping young people through his cool group called the Northern Star Youth Empowerment Initiative (NSYEI).
He’s also told folks at different events that he’s done with politics for good—no more running for office or taking political jobs.
A friend of Bafarawa talked to New Telegraph and said the rumors about joining the SDP are totally fake. He added that Bafarawa is out of the country right now and doesn’t even know people are talking about this.
