NANS praises Nasarawa Governor for reinstating rusticated students

On Thursday, April 24, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) praised the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Audu Sule, for his quick action in ensuring the reinstatement of students who had been rusticated from Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK).
In a statement released in Abuja, NANS expressed its gratitude for the governor’s “wise and compassionate” decision. The statement was signed by NANS National President, Comrade Olushola Ladoja, and National Secretary General, Comrade Anzaku Shedrack Ovey.
NANS explained that Governor Sule made the appeal during the 4th Stakeholders’ Meeting of the university, which also marked the one-year anniversary of Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman’s tenure as Vice-Chancellor.
The student association commended the governor’s action, calling it a vital step toward fostering peace and inclusiveness within the academic community. They also encouraged other university administrators across Nigeria to follow this example of leadership, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and putting students’ welfare first.
“This gesture by His Excellency not only strengthens the trust between students and the government but also reinforces the importance of second chances in academic environments,” the statement concluded.
