On Thursday, December 5, the Adamawa State All Progressives Congress (APC) reconciliation committee, led by Senator Muhammed Mana, revealed its goal to reclaim the state from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 elections. This comes after the state chapter faced an internal crisis that caused divisions within the party.
To address this, the APC National Secretariat established a reconciliation committee. The eight-member team includes Senators Bello Tukur, Abubakar Girei, and Binta Masi, along with Yusuf Buba Yakubu, Dr. Bridget Zidon, and Isa Baba.
Following a closed-door meeting at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, Mana told journalists that the committee has been tasked by the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to resolve internal conflicts and bring unity back to the party.
Mana emphasized that the committee’s efforts would start immediately, engaging members at the unit, ward, and local government levels. “Adamawa has been a very critical APC state, and we want to make sure that the state goes back to its former position,” Mana said.
He explained that the party’s issues stemmed from the primary and general elections, with some members feeling sidelined. “We want to go and beg them and make sure that the party is unified under the banner of the broom of APC,” he added.
Mana also noted the committee’s commitment to strengthening grassroots connections, saying, “Our goal is to create a platform for unity and prepare the next generation of leaders.”
