Actor Browny Igboegwu calls out Nollywood colleagues over hypocrisy, fake love
Browny Igboegwu, a well-known Nollywood actor, has publicly criticized his colleagues in the movie industry for what he calls “hypocrisy” and “fake love.”
In a post shared on his Instagram on Tuesday, Igboegwu expressed his dissatisfaction with the behavior he has observed in Nollywood, where actors often speak negatively about one another behind their backs, only to publicly celebrate the same people. He called this behavior “broad daylight witchcraft” and warned that he would no longer associate with colleagues who engage in backstabbing.
“Make we take it easy with fake love in this our Nollywood,” Igboegwu wrote. “One minute you are saying despicable things about your colleague, and the next minute you are posting and celebrating the same person.”
He went on to emphasize the importance of being genuine with one’s intentions, urging people to avoid engaging in deceitful behavior. “Please be genuine with your intentions towards people. Say no to fake love; it is worse than poison,” he added. “If you can’t say something good about someone, please shut up.”
Igboegwu’s post resonates with many fans who have grown tired of the back-and-forth public displays of affection that often mask underlying tensions in the entertainment industry. The actor’s call for authenticity in relationships within Nollywood reflects his desire for a more honest and supportive atmosphere among his peers.
