BREAKING: Famous businesswoman Aisha Achimugu arrested by EFCC after early morning arrival
On Tuesday, April 29, a group of officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested a well-known business leader and socialite, Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu.
According to her legal team, Aisha had returned to the country on her own from London and was arrested early in the morning, around 5 a.m.
In court, her lawyer explained that she had already told the Federal High Court in Abuja that she planned to visit the EFCC that day as part of their investigation. The investigation is looking into claims of a criminal conspiracy and money laundering.
Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja had ordered that Aisha must go to the EFCC on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, to talk about the case.
The judge also said she needs to appear in court the next day, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to continue the case.
