Mohbad’s father demanded quick burial after Davido’s donation – PA
During a coroner’s inquest in Ikorodu on Wednesday, September 11, Adeyemo Boluwatife, the personal assistant to the late singer Mohbad, testified that Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, demanded an immediate burial of his son after receiving a N2 million donation from Davido.
The inquest, which began on September 29, 2023, was initiated by the Lagos State Government to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. Mohbad, who died on September 12, 2023, was buried the following day.
Due to nationwide calls for justice, Mohbad’s body was exhumed on September 21, 2023, for an autopsy conducted by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
In his testimony, Adeyemo, who is also Mohbad’s nephew, told the court that Mohbad’s father insisted on a swift burial following the donation. Adeyemo stated, “Mohbad’s father demanded an immediate burial after receiving N2 million from Davido.” He added that he had transferred N1 million to Aloba and later provided the remaining amount to Adura, Mohbad’s younger brother, after covering hospital bills and ambulance rental fees.
According to TheCable, Adeyemo also revealed that investigators had taken custody of Mohbad’s phone after his death.
