Jos school collapse: Simi blames negligence, disregard for human life
Songstress Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has attributed the collapse of a secondary school building in Jos, Plateau State, to negligence and lack of value for human life in Nigeria.
On Friday, July 12, a total of 22 students lost their lives, while 132 sustained injuries after the school building collapsed in Busa Buji, Jos North Local Government Area.
Simi reacted to the tragic incident via her X handle, condemning the negligence and disregard for human life that led to the devastating event. She lamented that the things people die for in Nigeria are “so maddening.”
“All those babies just gone like that because of people’s negligence. The worst thing about Nigeria is the lack of value for life. The things people die for are so maddening,” The singer wrote.
Simi’s heartfelt response resonated with many, highlighting the country’s ongoing struggles with accountability and prioritizing human life.
