Ian Wright sticks with Arsenal title prediction despite setbacks
On Wednesday, November 27, former Arsenal striker Ian Wright reaffirmed his belief that his old club will win the Premier League title this season, despite some early-season struggles.
Arsenal’s title hopes were temporarily derailed by a series of poor results during Martin Ødegaard’s absence due to an ankle injury. The Gunners dropped points in six matches, but have since recovered, with Ødegaard’s return providing a boost to their performances.
Currently, Arsenal is just one point behind reigning champions Manchester City and nine points adrift of leaders Liverpool.
Speaking on the latest episode of Wrighty’s House, Wright insisted that his pre-season prediction remains unchanged: “I’m not going to change my prediction,” he said. “Not just because I want it to happen so much, but I think Arsenal needed this time where they kind of fell off in those results.”
He continued, “Ødegaard getting injured, and them having to really knuckle down, get the results done, then he’s come back and now look at them. Now, it’s just chasing Liverpool, we’re chasing Liverpool.
