Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri has opened up about the emotional toll that false rumors of his death took on his family.
In June 2024, rumors of Quadri’s passing spread across social media, sparking panic among fans and family members. The actor swiftly responded to the rumors, using his Instagram to assure everyone that he was “alive and well.”
However, during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, the 65-year-old actor shared his frustration with the people who spread the baseless claims. “When I saw the news, I said, ‘Weldone, you content creators,’” Quadri reflected on Friday, December 20. “Although no one would be happy whenever people spread death rumors about them, I leave the person behind the rumors to God’s judgment. If they think causing sadness in people’s families will help them attain success, so be it.”
The actor revealed that the incident had caused unnecessary stress for his family, particularly his children who live abroad. “Despite the fact that my children are overseas and we have constant communication every three days, they were like, ‘I still spoke to Daddy last week.’” He continued, “It got to a stage where everybody became troubled. They started calling in the morning, afternoon, and then again at night to confirm my well-being.”
