Governor Usman Ododo urges LG administrators to prioritize transparency, accountability
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo emphasized the importance of effective governance at the local level during an interactive session with Directors of Local Government and Treasurers at the Government House in Lokoja.
Governor Ododo charged the administrators to view themselves as government representatives at the grassroots, stressing that their performance strengthens the government-people relationship and brings development.
He commended their resilience and productivity, highlighting their crucial role in maintaining accurate records and upholding professional ethics.
Kogi State Accountant General, Habiba Onumoko, praised Governor Ododo’s contributions to grassroots development, youth and women empowerment, and employment opportunities. She described him as a man of impact and an embodiment of humility.
The Chairman of the forum of Directors of Local Government, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, expressed gratitude to the Governor for approving a minimum wage of N72,500 for workers in the state.
This move has significantly enhanced the welfare of civil servants. Musa also commended Onumoko for her professionalism and guidance.
