Gary Lineker predicts Arsenal and Man City will vie for EPL title

On Monday, September 16, BBC Sports host Gary Lineker stated that Arsenal and Manchester City are likely to compete for the Premier League title again this season.

In the past two seasons, Manchester City has narrowly beaten Arsenal to the trophy. This year, Pep Guardiola’s team is off to a strong start, having won all their first four matches.

Arsenal, meanwhile, has accumulated 10 points, placing them two points behind City ahead of their match this Sunday at the Etihad Stadium.

Although Liverpool was considered a potential title contender following their impressive victory over Manchester United earlier this month, they faced an unexpected 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

This result has left Liverpool in fourth place, just one point behind third-placed Newcastle United and three points behind Manchester City.

Despite these developments, Lineker believes the title race is likely to be between City and Arsenal. “It’s already looking like Arsenal v Manchester for the title again,” he said.
