Frank Lampard emerges as potential candidate for England manager role
Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is being considered for the role of the next England manager.
The Football Association (FA) is exploring options for a new head coach, even though Lee Carsley has had a successful interim stint, securing two 2-0 victories in UEFA Nations League matches against the Republic of Ireland and Finland. Carsley, who stepped in after Gareth Southgate’s departure, has impressed in these games.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the FA is still open to appointing a different candidate once Carsley’s interim role concludes in November. Lampard, 46, is reportedly on a shortlist of four potential candidates, separate from the possibility of naming Carsley as Southgate’s permanent successor.
