Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has acknowledged that his team is not in the running for the Premier League title this season, naming three other clubs as the favorites to secure the championship.
Speaking on Friday, November 29, 2024, Maresca made it clear that Chelsea is not a contender for the title, despite their strong performance so far. The Blues are currently in third place with 22 points, level with Arsenal, but are a point behind Manchester City and eight points off leaders Liverpool.
“No, we are not in a title race, I already said this… we are not there,” Maresca told reporters. “Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal are ahead of us.”
Chelsea will need to continue improving if they hope to stay competitive, but for now, Maresca believes the Premier League crown will be decided among the three other clubs.
