Drama in Abuja as FCTA seals PDP national secretariat over 25-year debt

On Monday, May 26, things got real in Abuja as the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) sealed off Wadata Plaza — the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) — over a massive unpaid debt.
According to FCTA officials, the PDP has failed to pay ground rent fees for over 25 years, and the administration finally decided to act on its warning.
Wadata Plaza, located in Abuja, is the central hub of PDP’s national operations. But on Monday, FCTA enforcement teams showed up and locked the place down, following through on what they had earlier called a legal obligation.
This move is already stirring reactions online and in political circles. Meanwhile, the PDP has not yet officially responded to the action.
In a related twist, political commentator Lere Olayinka weighed in, saying party elders — not just Nyesom Wike — should be held responsible for the debt, specifically mentioning figures like Bode George.
While more updates are expected soon, one thing is clear: after more than two decades of unpaid fees, the FCTA is done waiting.
