CHIVIDO2024: YouTube flags, removes Davido’s ‘Ogechi Remix’ for copyright
YouTube has removed Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido’s popular wedding hit, ‘Ogechi Remix,’ due to a copyright claim.
The song, which was performed live at Davido’s extravagant wedding to Chioma on June 25, 2024, features BoyPee, Brown Joel, and Hyce. It quickly became a fan favorite after its release.
The music video for ‘Ogechi Remix’ was uploaded to YouTube on July 19, 2024. However, it has now been taken down because of a copyright dispute.
While the video is no longer available, the audio track remains accessible on BoyPee’s official YouTube page. Notably, Davido is not listed as the official artist for the song on YouTube.
Additionally, a trending video online has revealed that the original version of ‘Ogechi’ was created by a different artist before the remix was made.
