Two injured in clash between rival cult groups at Osun Poly

On Tuesday, April 8, two people were injured during a violent clash between rival cult groups at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
The altercation reportedly began when a disagreement broke out between two students over a girl. The situation quickly escalated as members of the rival groups got involved, resulting in chaos across the campus.
In the heat of the clash, one student was attacked with a cutlass, while other students were injured while trying to escape. Although rumors had circulated that one person was killed, the school’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Fadeji Joseph, confirmed that no one lost their life in the incident.
Joseph explained, “It was true we had a crisis in the school earlier in the day. Two rival cult members had a disagreement over a girl, which led to a free-for-all among the two rival cult groups. In the process, one person was attacked with a cutlass and was wounded, while another lady was wounded while scampering for safety due to the situation. The two victims are at the hospital.”
He added that the police anti-cult unit had been called to the campus and had restored order. “The situation is now calm. I am on the campus as I speak with you, and I am telling you the situation is under control,” Joseph assured.
