Todd Boehly acknowledges challenges in Chelsea’s new stadium plans

On Tuesday, March 25, Todd Boehly, the co-owner of Chelsea Football Club, admitted that the plans for a new stadium remain a significant challenge.

Speaking candidly about the club’s ongoing efforts to build a new home, Boehly explained that the process is far from straightforward, especially given the stadium’s location in the heart of London.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Boehly revealed, “Inside of London it’s really complex. It’s not like we are building something in a rural environment. We have a lot of constituents to make sure we care about. Certainly, the Chelsea fan base is one of them.”

Despite the challenges, Boehly expressed optimism about the future, adding, “Long term, I think we’re going to build something new, and I think we’ll figure it out.”

Chelsea have previously held discussions about a potential move to Earls Court, as the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge in its current location would be limited by the area’s geography, reducing the number of seats available.
