Tinubu, Shettima mourn elder statesman and business icon Aminu Dantata

President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima have expressed deep sorrow over the passing of elder statesman, renowned businessman, and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, who died in the early hours of Saturday at the age of 94.

In a statement released by presidential media aide Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Dantata’s death as a monumental national loss, citing his significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic growth and national development.

Dantata, celebrated for his business acumen, also held public service roles, including Commissioner for Planning and Development in the old Kano State.

President Tinubu praised the late mogul’s philanthropic legacy, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare, saying his impact was far-reaching and deeply felt across the country.

“With the death of Alhaji Dantata today, we lost a prominent business mogul, patriot, and elder statesman who contributed significantly to the growth and development of our nation,” Tinubu stated.

He further recalled his personal relationship with the late industrialist, describing Dantata’s wise counsel and unwavering support as both encouraging and invaluable throughout the years.

Dantata, a respected figure in Nigeria’s private and public sectors, will be remembered for his industry, diligence, and dedication to national unity through decades of business innovation and selfless service.
