Comedian Steve Onu, popularly known as Yaw, confirmed the news in a statement to Peoples Gazette on Friday. “Yes, he is,” Yaw said, adding that he was still trying to reach Peters’ brother for further details.

A graduate of English from the University of Lagos, Peters began his journey in the entertainment industry in 2000, producing The Twilight Zone shortly after completing his studies. He rose to prominence through his work on African Magic’s revival of My Flatmates and the iconic Papa Ajasco and Company.
He later expanded his influence as an executive producer and director of acclaimed films such as Crazy Grannies (2021), Dream Job (2021), and his first international film, Excuse My African, shot in New York City in 2018.
In addition to his work in film, Peters was celebrated for his contributions to theatre and television, directing hit stage plays and sitcoms like Extended Family and Doll House (2015).
