Sokoto government boosts judges’ salaries to improve justice system

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, the Sokoto State Executive Council approved a new salary system for judges in the state, aiming to improve the quality of the judicial service.

Governor Aliyu Ahmed shared the announcement on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, expressing the state’s commitment to strengthening its judicial system. “We are fully committed to enhancing service delivery within the judicial system of our beloved state,” Ahmed stated.

The governor emphasized the importance of a strong judiciary for maintaining societal stability, noting that ensuring justice is a top priority for his administration.

He explained that the new salary structure is part of ongoing efforts to make sure the judiciary is well-equipped to maintain law and order in Sokoto. “A high-quality justice system is essential for a stable and effective society,” Ahmed added.

The governor reiterated the state’s commitment to upholding law and order as part of their efforts to ensure a peaceful and just society.
