Nigerian singer Simi has further explained her earlier statement about not listening to music, revealing that it was meant as banter.
Simi described the 2-hour interview as a friendly conversation with drinking and cussing, similar to how she would chat with friends. She acknowledged that the tone was misplaced and should have been more thoughtful.
The singer expressed hurt that the clip was edited and shared with an intentional narrative, misrepresenting her views. She noted that watching the entire interview would convey a different impression than the widely-shared clip.
Simi concluded by saying that although her friends advised her to move on, the issue lingered due to her dislike of being called a liar. However, she has chosen to put the matter behind her, stating “e don finish now” (it’s all over now).
