Ruger reveals donating first music earnings to church, says wealth changed him

Afrobeats star Michael Adebayo Olayinka, known as Ruger, disclosed that he donated his initial music earnings of N500,000 to a church.
He shared that within a year, he earned millions from his music career.
In a recent interview with VJ Adams, Ruger discussed how his rapid rise to wealth impacted him.
He explained, “My first payment was N500,000 when I started. I gave it all to the church. The next payment was N1 million, and I felt like I’d made it. I went on a shopping spree. More millions followed within a year.
“Money changed me in some ways—it changes everyone. No one can deny that. With more money, your approach to things shifts, like how you handle situations. Some people stress less when they’re wealthy.
“I aspire to reach a point where I’m unfazed by anything. Take Jay-Z, for example—he doesn’t react to insults because of his immense success. That’s the level I’m aiming for.”
