Phyna accuses Dangote Group of stalling sister’s treatment

A tragedy days after graduation
BBNaija Season 7 winner, Phyna (Ijeoma Josephina Otabor) has publicly called out the Dangote Group for allegedly failing to uphold their promise to provide urgent overseas medical treatment for her younger sister, Ruth.
Ruth was hit by a Dangote truck near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State on August 13, 2025—just six days after her graduation. According to Phyna, the truck was being driven by an underage, unlicensed driver. The accident led to the amputation of Ruth’s left leg, with her right leg also in danger.
Initial promises, then silence
Phyna revealed on Instagram that she has been in direct talks with Dangote Group officials, who initially agreed to fly Ruth to India for advanced medical care.
Instead, Ruth was first transferred to Lagoon Hospital in Lagos, where Phyna was told to submit a medical report—something she says she did without delay.
But afterward, the company reportedly changed its tone, saying they needed further consultation before deciding whether Ruth should travel abroad. Later, they demanded another report confirming that Lagoon Hospital couldn’t handle the case.
Since then, Phyna says the main company contact has gone silent—ignoring her messages for over 24 hours.
A plea to Aliko Dangote
In an emotional post, Phyna appealed directly to Aliko Dangote, urging him to step in personally.
“My sister’s life must not be put at risk. She needs urgent care and it’s beyond what local hospitals can handle. Dangote must keep to their words,” she said.
What’s next?
As of now, the Dangote Group has not issued a public response to the allegations. Meanwhile, support is growing online, with fans and public figures urging the company to act swiftly and responsibly.
