PDP vows to reject any rigged result in Zamfara by-election

Party accuses APC of trying to manipulate outcome
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it will reject any result from the Kaura Namoda South State Constituency re-run election in Zamfara State that does not reflect the will of the people.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of attempting to rig the by-election in its favor.
Election declared ‘inconclusive’ despite PDP’s lead
Ologunagba said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the election inconclusive in five polling units, even though the PDP had, according to him, already secured an “overwhelming victory.”
He described the move as a “ploy to favour the APC” and warned that both the PDP and the people of Zamfara would not accept any final result that contradicts the votes already collated.
“Zamfara is PDP territory” — Ologunagba
Calling on President Bola Tinubu to step in, Ologunagba urged him to stop what he called an attempt by the APC to “undermine democracy.”
“It is clear, and the APC should know, that Zamfara is a PDP state, and the people are standing firmly with the PDP and Governor Dauda Lawal,” he said.
PDP appeals to Nigerians, international observers
The party also called on both Nigerians and the international community to closely monitor the situation and take note of what it described as efforts to subvert the democratic process through intimidation and electoral manipulation.
