No land allocated to any of the Wike’s children – aide

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has firmly denied that any land has been allocated to any of the Minister’s children, describing the allegations as “sponsored blackmail” that has once again failed.
In a statement released on Tuesday, July 1, Olayinka challenged those attempting to blackmail the FCT Minister to try harder, emphasizing that nothing will deter the Minister from continuing with developmental projects under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
He said, “Last week, Monday, June 17, there was an unfounded and poorly executed propaganda claiming that the Minister allocated 2,082 hectares of land in Asokoro and Maitama to one of his sons — even though no such land exists in those two districts combined. They wrongly used a document showing land allocated for farming in the Bwari Area Council to a company called JOAQ Farms to support their false claim.”
Olayinka continued, “This week, Monday, June 24, there are stories alleging land allocation to another son of the Minister because documents showed land allocations to a company named Jordan Farms.
“Although, like all Nigerians, the Minister’s children, friends, and relatives have the right to own land anywhere in the country, including the FCT, provided they meet all legal requirements, no land has been allocated to any of the Minister’s children as of today.
“It is true that land was allocated to Jordan Farms and Estates Limited, a company registered in Nigeria, but none of the Minister’s children are directors of this company.
“One of the Minister’s sons is named Jordan, and there is a company named Jordan Farms and Estates Limited — but this is no reason to assume the company belongs to the Minister’s son.
“Company ownership records are publicly available at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), and we challenge those spreading these stories to publish the names of the actual owners.
“For example, I am Lere Olayinka, yet there is a Lere Local Government in Kaduna State. Does that mean I own that Local Government? Am I even from Kaduna State? There are companies such as Jordan Telecommunications and Jordan Foods — are they also owned by the Minister’s son?
“In the United Kingdom, there is a company called Jordan’s Farms — does that belong to the Minister’s son as well?
“Regarding the document that bears the name and signature of one of the Minister’s security aides, the important question is: Who owns Hyper Communications Limited? If I assist a friend or relative in collecting property documents, does that mean I own the property?
“Therefore, let the person from Adamawa State who is bent on attacking the FCT Minister for supporting power rotation between Northern and Southern Nigeria put in more effort. Just like last week’s claim, this latest attempt has failed before it even began.”
