Dalori assumes APC leadership after Ganduje’s resignation

Following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje as National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ali Bukar Dalori has officially taken over as the acting national chairman of the party.
Dalori formally assumed the role while addressing the party’s National Working Committee on Monday, June 30. He described his new responsibility as one he accepted with “humility, responsibility, and loyalty.”
He stated that his appointment was made in accordance with the directive of President Bola Tinubu, following Ganduje’s decision to step down.
“We are all aware of the significant contributions Dr. Ganduje made during his tenure,” Dalori said. “Since his assumption of office in August 2023, he provided our party with experienced leadership, steadfast commitment, and a clear sense of direction.”
He extended appreciation on behalf of the party, saying, “On behalf of the entire APC family, I express our heartfelt gratitude to him and wish him full recovery and strength as he focuses on his health and personal well-being.”
Dalori pledged to lead the party with “transparency, inclusiveness, and unity of purpose,” emphasizing that his appointment is not a personal triumph.
“This is a period for consolidation — not conflict. For maturity — not division. And for vision — not personal ambition,” he stated.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general election, Dalori urged the party to focus on strengthening its internal systems and rebuilding ties with the grassroots.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to President Tinubu’s leadership, describing the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda as a comprehensive roadmap for addressing Nigeria’s economic, security, and unity challenges.
“The APC remains the political vehicle to drive this transformation, and we will stand by the president in full loyalty and partnership,” Dalori said.
