Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian music star Mohbad, has opened up about how she met the singer. The mother of one shared that their relationship began 12 years ago when they were both teens on the popular social media app 2Go.
In a heartfelt interview with TVC, Omowunmi shared, “I met him when I was 13 on 2Go. That was 12 years ago. I used to be a rapper, and he sang, too, so we started as friends. We were very young then. He was 15. He proposed the relationship to me, and I accepted. We later got married and had a child together.”
Mohbad, who tragically passed away on September 12, 2023, was laid to rest in Ikorodu, Lagos State, less than 24 hours after his death. However, his body was exhumed on September 21 for an autopsy amid the controversies surrounding his passing. The results of the autopsy are still pending, with Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, stating that the reburial would take place once the autopsy results are released and a DNA test is conducted to confirm the paternity of his grandson, Liam.
