Mohbad’s family appeals for witnesses in investigation
The family of late singer Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, has issued an urgent appeal for witnesses to come forward with information about his death.
This request comes amid growing concern over the dissemination of sensitive details about the case on social media, which the family believes should be directed to law enforcement.
Monisola Esther, a member of the family’s legal team, stated that information regarding Mohbad’s death should be submitted to the police rather than being shared publicly. She emphasized that those with relevant information that could aid in the investigation should contact either the family’s legal team or the police to ensure that it is handled properly and to protect witnesses and suspects involved.
Esther also noted that the coroner’s inquest has issued witness summonses for individuals pertinent to the investigation, underscoring the importance of channeling information through legal avenues. The family has reiterated that Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, is focused solely on uncovering the truth about his son’s death and is not pursuing personal grievances or relationships at this time.
The appeal for information follows a viral video in which Karimot, Mohbad’s sister-in-law, made serious allegations against the singer’s widow, Wunmi. Karimot claimed that Wunmi might have been involved in Mohbad’s death and suggested she possessed incriminating information about her. The family has urged that such allegations be addressed through the appropriate legal processes rather than public forums.
