Matawalle criticizes Amaechi for inciting violence, causing unrest

Dr. Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, has strongly condemned remarks made by Rotimi Amaechi, accusing him of inciting violence and unrest among Nigerians.

In a statement released by Henshaw Ogubike, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, Matawalle warned the former Minister of Transport to stop making inflammatory comments that could threaten the nation’s peace and stability. He expressed serious concerns about the dangers posed by such rhetoric.

Matawalle stated, “It is both reckless and irresponsible for a former public servant like Amaechi to incite Nigerians against their own government.” He emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is actively working to address the challenges facing the country through various reforms that are already showing positive results.

“It is absurd, preposterous, and shameful for anyone to exploit the genuine concerns of our citizens for selfish political gain,” he added.

The Minister reiterated President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians, warning that any attempts to destabilize the country through incitement will not be tolerated. “We will not allow anyone to fuel violence or manipulate the current situation for their own ends. Let this serve as a final warning to Amaechi and his associates,” Matawalle said.

He also cautioned Amaechi against undermining the government’s genuine intentions for the people, urging him to work together with the administration to move the country forward instead of making narrow-minded assertions.
